As Ed Roland front man for Collective Soul says “We’re enjoying being an independent band.” Roland says. “That was our choice and I believe it’s the way of the future. I’m not saying the major labels are bad, I just don’t think they’re necessary for every artist. It used to be that was the only way you had to get your music presented, which is the ultimate dream of any artist or songwriter, but now with the internet everything is different.”

We received an email from an excited, Ahmed and rightfully so. His band, "Bamboo Shoots" had just won MTV's best music on campus contest.
